zu verkaufen - for sale - se vendeOnly for: $296,000 WelcomeDayaParaiso is steeped in an atmosphere of quiet aliveness - an intangible invitation to let down and deeply relax. Situated in a rural mountain area of Costa Rica, the villa offers a serene atmosphere, pure air, and ever-changing beautiful views. Perched at an ideal altitude of 3,000 feet, the villa's spectacular view encompasses the surrounding hillside farmlands, the 'Golf de Nicoya', the Pacific Ocean, and the beginning of the southern mountain range. (Unfortunately our current photos don't pick up the full peninsula and the multitude of islands and inlets surrounding the gulf.) At night you'll see the lights of Puntarenas and surrounding villages and most often a sky full of stars. VillaFrom every room large windows overlook the spectacular Gulf de Nicoya and Pacific Ocean (sunset photo). Delightful home with multiple covered terraces; main floor has kitchen / dining /living, 2-3 bedrooms, 2 baths, walk-in closet, washroom w/electric washer & dryer, slop sink as well as water heaters for both main and guest house. Lower floor has a small bedroom and ½ bathroom. A natural spring on the property supplies the home thanks to a large holding tank and drinking water is best filtered. The guesthouse has a spacious bed / living room, full kitchen and bathroom plus large terrace (photo) with koi pond and gorgeous views. The home is simply furnished, clean and well maintained. For outdoor living there is a large un-covered terrace, as well as a gazebo near the citrus trees.
Neighborhood & Walks The property is completely private, adjoins European-owned properties on both sides, and is oherwise surrounded by hillside farmlands. Walks on the main road called "La Tabla" (dating back to the days of gold mining in the area, and referring to the structure built for mining purposes) offer a variety of outstanding mountain and ocean views, a closer look at the peculiar Costa Rican cow, various crops, and unusual birds. 'La Tabla' is a dirt road and has very little traffic (10-20 cars a day?)
Birds The property is a bird lover's paradise, especially leading up to and during the wet season (May-August/September for birds), when you will awake to a multitude of exotic bird calls. On numerous occasions, the owners have seen tucans, various parrots and exotically colored birds from the veranda.
ClimateThe average temperature is 77 F (25 C) and typical to Costa Rica the villa is neither heated nor air-conditioned. Year-round, a light pullover/sweater is needed most evenings. Compared to coastal living, and due to the ideal altitude, there is little to no humidity in the dry season (Dec – April/May), the temperature is milder and there are few annoying bugs. Dec./Jan. can be cooler and windy requiring pants and sweaters. The wet season runs May – Oct/Nov and is for the most part quite acceptable to summer vacationers; daylight breaks at 5 am, when most locals start their day, and the warm rainfalls don’t usually start until well into the afternoon, often clearing up later. Sept/Oct may have heavy rainfall throughout the day. Bear in mind that anything is possible due to current global climate changes. On the MapThe property is situated between the capital of San Jose and Punterenas on the gulf, near the town of San Ramon de Alajuela (Alajuela being the province). Some maps show the village of San Francisco, which is the closest to the villa. From here, sightseeing choices abound. The property is equi-distance to many popular tourism spots; jungles, canopy tours, river rafting, thermal baths, volcanoes, and beaches.
Shopping in San RamonSan Ramon is 20-25 minutes away, with a population of about 70,000. San Ramon is a real Costa Rican town, with very few European/American tourists. A fabulous farmers' market opens every Friday around 1-2 pm until Saturday around 2 pm (double-check the times). Organic produce is readily available and very inexpensive. There are several supermarkets, but the one catty-corner to back of the town's green square seems the best stocked. There are several mini-grocers half-way down to San Ramon, in Piadades Sur and other villages.
Airport & TransportationThe property is one hour from the international airport of San Jose (not Liberia airport), but allow extra time during commuter hours. Like many good things, the villa can be hard to find. We highly recommended reserving a reliable taxi service from our local area to pick you up at the airport or meet you in San Ramon. You'll want to rent a light-weight jeep/SUV with a high chassis for many of Costa Rica's dirt roads, including La Tabla. Contact UsPhone: Costa Rica 00506-7090-3418 |
