My name is Helene WIRT, born in Austria (Viena) und I am living now already 17 years in Costa Rica. Since 1997 I dedicate my life, to give a home to abandoned dogs again. I heal them, they will be sterilized and they get all affection and medicine, they need. They are a now healthy, with enough food and beautiful. I still have my first dog from the street (meanwhile 11 years old - named Baldwin). I help also people of my surroundings to nurse their sick dogs to operate them and to give advices to the people.

In particular, I try to alter attitude to dogs and to put more love and respect for dogs into the heart of the people of Costa Rica. They should see a dog as part of the family and not something, you put only outside. It is hard to get, but I don't give up. I have moved something, but for my feeling too little. I simply accept the indifference and heartlessness of many people and so I go on working and trying. My biggest luck is it, to see by some humans a change to see to their dog with other eyes or to give their healed dog back to them again. Also many owners have learned to love their bitch again after the sterilization, because they don't bring home puppies they nobody wants.

The financial help in order to operate the dogs or to bring from health reasons to the veterinarian, I cannot give to the people not indefinitely. Having so many dogs I also need to pay persons helping me because I never could take care of them alone (especially I also already 62 year old).

Since I love all my dogs very much, it is difficult for me to offer them for adoption. But since I have already 70 dogs, I get to a mental and financial limit. I see myself forced to find good places in reinforced size. They should on the new place better than lives with me, simply-therefore, because you can give more love and attention to one or a few dogs than to 70 dogs.

If you give love and respect to your dog, you receive also his whole affection, unconditional. Between people, there is not this security.

My dogs are only rarely “purely” race, but they are more interesting, more grateful and more resistant against illnesses and they are dogs, you don't have the same like hundreds of other persons.

If you look for a dear and beautiful dog, please I bag you to move my dogs in consideration, and to offer a good home to them. They need tenderness, love, good food and care and you become hundredfold-reimburses. A healthy and agreeable dog can offer you a lot of joy and can build our life to a better and happier life.

Whether you had a good or a bad day, they always welcome you joyfully. He will love you however you look like. He will defend your house and the joy you get promotes your health. Many illnesses have mental causes. What is better than a truly good comrade be on your side.

I personally have the often-experiences that each depression vanishes, when a funny and happy dog around-sweeps or press himself close to you. Or if you have two or more dogs you see them quite happily together playing, innocently and ignorantly whatever the world outside offers on bad news. That is what really-count.

I hope you forgive me my enthusiasm, but maybe it is your first dog and you should be prepared what is expecting you. I always stand with rat and action by the side, if you wish it.
