Santamaría International Airport. It is only a
short distance away from tourist attractions like

Colonial Group
History
In 1992, when the casino industry
was just starting in Costa Rica, the company
opened the Casino Club Colonial, known for its
outstanding service. Professionalism, honesty and
a commitment to service are trademarks that have
attracted exclusive and distinguished clients.
This select and elegant casino is
located in one of the most culturally significant
areas of San José, right in the heart of the
capital city. The casino is near some of the most
interesting museums in the country-the Gold and
Jade museums, which are less than a kilometer
apart.
Fourteen years after the opening of
the casino and as a result of its success, the
Colonial Group opened the Magnolia Restaurant.
This addition improved the Casino Club Colonial's,
service to its clients.
In July of 2005, the company
celebrated the Grand Opening of this first hotel.
Affiliated with the Choice Hotels and carrying the
Sleep Inn brand, it is the newest hotel in San
José. Besides the Sleep Inn, there have been no
new hotels in the area in the last fourteen
years.
The hotel is on the north side of
the Casino Colonial block and in front of the old
street known as "Paseo de las Damas" (This street
has had this name since the eighteenth century,
because of all the trees that are within five
blocks of the area.) The hotel is close to some of
the most historic parks in the city-Morazán, Spain
and The Democracy Parks. Guests have a view of
each of these parks from their hotel rooms when
they stay with us.
